The outage has severely impacted the operations of both the airport and its operator, the Port of Seattle, rendering their official websites inaccessible to the public. To keep stakeholders informed during this challenging period, the Port of Seattle has been issuing updates through a dedicated page on the Washington Public Ports Association (WPPA) website.

As technical teams work tirelessly to resolve the issue, efforts are focused on restoring full functionality and ensuring minimal disruption to travelers and airport services. The incident highlights the critical importance of robust digital infrastructure in maintaining seamless airport operations. Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) is gearing up for a busy Labor Day travel period, with early travelers expected to pack the terminals.

Authorities are advising passengers to allow extra time for their journeys, especially in light of an ongoing system outage that has added complications to airport operations. The Port of Seattle has highlighted that the outage is particularly affecting several airlines, including Frontier Airlines, JetBlue, Spirit Airlines, Sun Country Airlines, and all international carriers. Passengers flying with these airlines are urged to plan for even more time at the airport to navigate potential delays.

Data from aviation analytics firm Cirium indicates that between the start of the outage on August 24 and Labor Day on September 2, a total of 6,330 flights are scheduled to operate from SEA. The peak travel days are expected to be August 25 and August 30, with 677 and 671 flights scheduled, respectively. Among the U.

S.-based airlines most impacted by the outage, there were 150 departures, including 17 flights on August 26 alone. Non-U.

S. carriers are also set to have a significant presence at SEA, with 372 scheduled departures during this period. Leading the pack are Air Canada with 80 flights, WestJet with 35, and Icelandair with 30.
