A LIDO right by the seafront has revealed plans to open a new cafe-bar as well as watersports hub. Tinside Lido in Plymouth first opened in 1935, celebrating its 90th birthday this year. It is often is named as one of the best outdoor pools in Europe .
And the Art Deco pool has revealed plans for a new revamp this summer . The floor of the lido building could be turned into a cafe and bar area, serving drinks and snacks throughout the day. And a multi purpose hub with spaces to rent watersports could also be part of the ungraded complex.

Currently underway is a renovation of the lido which includes a renovated terrace and new public seating area. It is part of a £12million renovation from the National Lottery heritage Fund to upgrade the seafront.
The pool is open during the summer season from May to September, with official 2025 dates yet to be confirmed. Most read in News Travel Despite opening in the 1930s, it has been closed for a number of periods and left abandoned. However, it was restored and reopened in 2003 with an upgraded sun deck and lido cafe serving drinks and snacks.
The saltwater pool is not heated, but has both a shallow and deep end as well as central fountain. Tickets range from £4.80 to £8, with cheaper tickets for locals.
