The Supreme Dynamic Talent Academy Awards (SDTAA) has established an award category in memory of Nigeria’s rap artiste, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, who passed away under mysterious circumstances at the age of 27. This was disclosed by the chairperson of SDTA Awards, Ambassador Zino Lexili Ogazi, at a media briefing to announce the 4th edition of the awards in Lagos. The logo and award category was named the ‘Supreme Imole Rookie Street-Hop Artiste of the Year’.

“This initiative ensures that his legacy endures for generations, particularly for his devoted fans and loved ones around the world. We encourage upcoming artists in the street-hop genre to submit their nominations for the Supreme Imole Rookie Street-Hop Artiste of the Year. We hope that the talent who truly embodies the essence of this category emerges victorious.



” Mohbad is remembered for his viral hits such as, Ponmo, Peace, Beast, Sorry, Feel Good and KPK (‘Ko Por Ke’). The artwork features Mohbad’s face adorned with a halo, symbolysing his impactful yet brief legacy and his role as a beacon of inspiration in the street-hop genre for upcoming artistes. Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman of SDTA Awards, Ambassador Cash-Eric Michael Ogazi, said, “the immortalisation of Imole (as Mohbad was known) is to celebrate his dedication to his career and providing solace to a grieving community.
