Tuesday, August 20, 2024 Visit Anaheim, the official sales and marketing organization for Anaheim, has announced the appointment of Scott Oklin as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective September 16, 2024. Oklin, a seasoned leader in sales and marketing within the sports, entertainment, and hospitality industries, brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the role. Prior to joining Visit Anaheim, Oklin served as the Head of Sales at Travelzoo, where he played a pivotal role in driving business development and establishing significant partnerships with top travel brands and destinations.

At Travelzoo, Oklin led a team that was instrumental in creating impactful marketing campaigns aimed at increasing visitation to various destinations. By leveraging Travelzoo’s expansive global audience of travel enthusiasts, Oklin and his team were able to develop and execute compelling storytelling strategies that resonated with travelers worldwide. These campaigns focused on 360-degree custom content solutions designed to engage and inspire audiences, ultimately driving increased traffic and bookings for Travelzoo’s partners.



Oklin expressed his enthusiasm for joining Visit Anaheim during a dynamic period for the organization. “It’s a privilege to join Visit Anaheim during such an exciting time. I’m enthusiastic about bringing my experience with global destinations to this role and working with the team to continue elevating the Anaheim brand,” said Oklin.

“Together, we aim to attract visitors from all corners of the globe.” Before his tenure at Travelzoo, Oklin held key positions with Goldstar, a live entertainment ticketing platform, and the Washington Commanders, where he specialized in sponsorship activation. These roles have equipped Oklin with a diverse skill set and a deep understanding of the travel and entertainment sectors, which he is eager to bring to his new position at Visit Anaheim.

He will lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategic marketing and publicity programs that align with Visit Anaheim’s mission and long-term strategic objectives. Oklin’s appointment is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to the organization, further solidifying Anaheim’s position as a premier travel destination..
