Australian Test star Scott Boland has gained his revenge on Sam Konstas after the young batsman pulled off a second-ball ramp in the Sheffield Shield. Konstas, fresh off his first one-day century, lined up for NSW against Victoria at the SCG on Tuesday. And he promptly got back to “Konstas doing what Konstas does” when he ramped a Boland delivery over the slip cordon for a boundary — just as he did on his Test debut against India in December.

But he went scoreless from then on and was bowled when he walked across his stumps to attempt a slog sweep on the first ball of Boland’s second over. Boland celebrated down the pitch then slowed down as he reached Konstas, appearing to have words for the teenager opener.
“Konstas falls for 10, Boland has his revenge, and the Australian batter falls and walks off head bowed,” the commentator said. Nic Maddison had doubled Konstas’s tally of 10 from the first over when he smacked Fergus O’Neill for 20 in the second. A dot ball was followed by two boundaries and two sixes before another dot rounded out the over.
“I don’t remember too many Shield matches starting in this fashion,” the commentator said. His partner said: “I haven’t seen any.”.
