A police probe has been launched after a Rolex watch was stolen from a Scottish hotel room. The theft took place in Thurso, in the Highlands, on Saturday, July 27. Police Scotland said the theft took place between 6.

20pm and 6.40pm and occurred within the Royal Hotel , in the Highland town's Traill Street. The watch is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual , from a range of watches made by the luxury Switzerland-based firm.



The Rolex website shows timepieces from the range cost £4,850 or more. A picture of a watch similar to the one stolen was shared on the Police Scotland Highland & Islands Facebook page alongside a post asking the public for information. The post read: "Caithness cops are appealing for information regarding the theft of a men's Rolex watch from a room within the Royal Hotel, Trail Street, Thurso.

"The watch was stolen between 6:20pm and 6:40pm on Saturday 27th July. It is described as a Rolex Oyster Perpetual with a silver bracelet and shiny silver face - similar to that pictured." Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland by calling 101, with the reference CR/0275321/24 relating to the incident.

Crimestoppers can also be contacted on 0800 555 111 where anyone who has information which may assist the police with the investigation can be provided anonymously.
