Tuesday, November 12, 2024 In a bid to expand regional connectivity and meet rising travel demand, Singapore’s budget airline, Scoot, will introduce three new direct flight routes to Phu Quoc, Vietnam’s largest island, as well as Padang City in Indonesia and Shantou City in China, starting next month. This strategic expansion marks Scoot’s ongoing commitment to delivering affordable travel options and enhancing accessibility to sought-after tourist destinations across Southeast Asia and China. Starting on December 20, Scoot will launch three weekly flights to Phu Quoc, an island renowned for its stunning beaches, high-end resorts, and the UNESCO-recognized Phu Quoc National Park, a biosphere reserve located in the Gulf of Thailand.
Phu Quoc has emerged as a prime tourist hotspot, drawing global attention for its natural beauty and array of luxury resorts. The frequency of flights to Phu Quoc will increase to five times per week from January 25, 2025, indicating Scoot’s anticipation of high demand for this route. Phu Quoc, known for its tropical allure and unspoiled landscapes, offers an ideal getaway with activities ranging from diving in clear waters to trekking through lush forests.
The island also provides travelers with a range of high-end accommodation options, including renowned beachfront resorts and wellness retreats, which have collectively bolstered Vietnam’s tourism industry in recent years. Scoot’s new direct flights will make it easier and more afford.
