A pedestrian was killed while crossing U.S. Highway 701 Saturday night near Bucksport.
South Carolina Highway Patrol corporal Nick Pye said a pedestrian was struck and killed while trying to cross U.S. Highway 701 near Sing Avenue.
Pye said that at about 8:16 p.m. Saturday, Aug.
24, the pedestrian was traveling west across 701 when a Kia sedan traveling north on the highway struck the pedestrian. The identity of the pedestrian has not been released by the Horry County Coroner's Office as of Sunday morning. SCHP is investigating the collision.
