Delta Air Lines today became the latest US carrier to join a long list of airlines to establish codeshare agreements with legacy airlines across the Middle East, by signing a new partnership with Saudia Arabian flag carrier Saudia. This new agreement builds upon the carriers' existing interline collaboration and will open up even more destinations for passengers from the United States headed to the Middle East and South Asia. According to a press release from Delta , the two airlines have successfully applied for codesharing permission from the relevant regulatory agencies and will begin selling tickets on codeshare itineraries as soon as all applicable approvals are received.
This new agreement will offer Delta customers access to nine different destinations across the Middle East, including destinations beyond the primary Saudia hubs at King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah and King Khalid International Airport (RUH). In return, Saudia customers will gain access to multiple destinations across the US that are not currently served by the carrier. These include 12 destinations beyond the carrier's US gateway hubs, at John F.
