Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is expanding its East Asian network by adding the first-ever direct route between Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH) and Seoul Incheon International Airport (ICN), which is set to launch next September. The news comes as the airline observes growing air travel demand among South Korean travelers visiting Scandinavia. Expanding its presence in East Asia Subject to final governmental approval, the new route will start operating on September 12, 2025, with four weekly services during the summer season and three times weekly in winter.

SAS will utilize its fleet of Airbus A350 widebodies. According to ch-aviation data, the Copenhagen-based airline currently operates four A350-900 aircraft, each of which can seat up to 300 passengers in a four-class cabin layout: 40 in business class, 32 in premium economy, and 228 in economy class. Indeed, SAS is venturing into uncharted territory, as no other carrier currently offers direct flights between Copenhagen and Seoul.



By introducing the new route connecting Denmark and South Korea, the Scandinavian carrier aims to strengthen Copenhagen's position as a hub for intercontinental travel. With the addition of Seattle (SEA) and Seoul (ICN), SAS will offer 14 intercontinental destinations next year.
