Prayagraj : Crores of devotees and visitors coming to Maha Kumbh-2025 will be able to get an insight into the rich cultural and historical legacy of Kumbh and Sanathan Dharma through a unique Sanskriti Gram ( cultural village ) to built in the campus of the fair. To be built in an area of five acres in the Arail area of Maha Kumbh Mela, this ‘village’ will be special in many ways. Various cultural events, including exhibitions, will be held here for 45 days during the mega religious event.

Various cultural, spiritual, and historical aspects of Maha Kumbh will be shown through Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) shows. The Sanskriti Gram will be equipped with features like a visit to past showing Maharaja Harshvardhan giving donation for organising the Kumbh and a virtual visit of all the sites along with the information of their historical and cultural context through AR, a 360-degree virtual immersive experience, touchscreen interactive kiosks, multimedia display, mobile app integration, and live streaming virtual tours. The exhibitions will also include information about Vedas, Puranas, Charak Samhita and ancient astrological scriptures along with the mention of the ancient universities.



An exhibition of 20 stalls will be held in Sanskriti Gram displaying local handicrafts and crafts and depicting mythological, spiritual, and historical importance of Maha Kumbh and the journey of the religious event in different periods. Sanskriti Gram will be divided into various zones dedicated to ancient heritage and mythology, articles of historical travellers, astrological science, performing arts, and interactive workshops. Apart from this, 30 grand spiritual theme-based gates will be built in the fair area.

These gates will be based on various themes including Trishul, Swastik, Kalpvriksha, and Damru and will be named as Maha Kumbh Logo gate, Trishul gate, Swastik gate, Damru gate, Shankh gate, Maha Kumbh gate, Surya gate, Dev Dal gate, Kamal gate, Gada gate, Dhanush gate, Ganga gate, Kaustubh gate, Kamdhenu gate, Lakshmi gate, Om gate, Nandi gate, Sangam gate, Nagvasuki gate, Shivling gate, Chandra gate, Kalash gate, Sudarshan Chakra gate, 14 Ratna Katha gate, Airavat gate, Kachhapa gate, Kalpavriksh gate, Samudra Manthan gate, Rudraksh gate, and Ashwa gate. These gates will also have selfie points, lamp posts, and portable tourist information centres. The tender process and work allocation has been started by the tourism department.

The entire city is getting a makeover ahead of Maha Kumbh. As a part of the beautification work being done by the Cantt Board, specially designed electric poles will be installed at Patel Sansthan and Chota Shastri Bridge through the northern route of Daraganj crematorium at a cost of about Rs two crore. Facelift work worth Rs 51 lakh will be done around Alopi Devi temple, lights and poles will be installed around Bade Hanuman Mandir, Saraswati Koop Marg, along the boundary of the fort and of Minto Park at a cost of Rs one crore.

Road widening work will be done from IERT to Teliyarganj via Sadiabad, Salori, Amitabh Bachchan Pulia, Kailashpuri, and Govindpur Sabji Mandi at a cost of Rs 4 crore. The tender process for these projects has started and work will commence soon after the monsoon..
