Jadu Ki Jhappi is still the purest form of expressing love. Originating from Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Munna Bhai MBBS, the movie served a lot of moments that are still in practice. To everyone’s surprise, the director-producer Vinod Chopra, in his recent appearance revealed that the film had opened with empty theaters.

Chopra further confessed that he lost a lot of his money initially to this movie. During the interview Chopra recalled Rajkumar Hirani’s reaction to the release, “Munna Bhai MBBS opened to empty theatres. Raju was very upset thinking I lost a lot of money.

Its a great film.’ At that time, we had about Rs 4 crore. I was like make another film.

I didn’t care if Munna Bhai worked or not. Although the film started to pick up pace after Monday, the seats were empty during the weekends. I didn’t really wait for the film to become a success for me to make another film.

” Earlier, talking about the same film, Rajkumar Hirani narrated the success story the film. He said, ““After watching the film, Mohammed Bhai (distributor) told us he can’t take the film as no one will understand the story. The decision was made to return his money and this was just three days before the release,” said Hirani.

He gave me one single show, 11:45 am show for Munna Bhai. You know how much money I made from Tamil Nadu? Rs 1.

67 crore.” Munna Bhai MBBS is a cult classic which opened to empty theaters but eventually was an all-time hit movie. The popularity eventually peaked and the producers released a sequel, Lage Rho Munna Bhai, which was also a hit.
