Samsung’s highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for late January 2025, will introduce the Galaxy S25 series to the world. However, those eagerly awaiting a thinner and more fashionable variant, the Galaxy S25 Special Edition, will need to exercise patience. Reports suggest that this slimline version won’t hit the shelves until later in the year, marking an exciting addition to Samsung’s flagship lineup.

According to reports, the Galaxy S25 Special Edition will debut in the second quarter of 2025. This timeline places its release a few months after the main Galaxy S25 series, which will be unveiled during the January Unpacked event. The staggered launch follows a pattern seen with Samsung’s foldable range.

In 2024, the Galaxy Z Fold6 was released in July, while the slimmer Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition followed four months later in October. By spreading out releases, Samsung creates a continuous buzz around its products and targets different market segments. The Z Fold Special Edition was exclusively available in China and South Korea, which many analysts viewed as a strategic move to test consumer response to thinner designs.

The model sold out quickly, signalling strong demand for slimmer devices. If Samsung adopts a similar strategy for the Galaxy S25 Special Edition, the initial release might be available in select regions. However, there is speculation that this model could see a broader global launch, given its potential appeal to a larger audience.
