Sammy Winward 's daughter Mia, 19, has stepped out in a skimpy outfit after revealing her career choices have put a strain on her relationship with her famous mother. Former Emmerdale actress Sammy is reportedly estranged from her daughter Mia after a heated dispute over the teenager's decision to join OnlyFans and sell saucy snaps online. Mia, 19, claimed over the weekend that her mother severed ties following an argument about her choice to post provocative content on the subscription-based platform, where she's raking in up to £30,000 a month.
Sammy, famed for her role as Katie Sugden on the popular ITV soap, left the show in 2015 after 14 years to pursue a career in teaching. She is yet to speak publicly regarding her daughter's claims they no longer speak. Snapped on a night out in Manchester on Sunday night, Mia donned a revealing two-piece outfit as she enjoyed a visit to 20stories bar in the northern city.
The OnlyFans content creator showed off her toned torso and legs in the orange and yellow bra top and mini skirt. Discussing the rift with her family, Mia recently shared with The Sun: "[My mum] said some pretty mean things when we did last speak. It was awful.
But I absolutely love my mum and I love all of my family but none of them speak to me now." Even Mia's father, ex-Blackburn Rovers footballer David Dunn , has reportedly kept his distance. Previously appearing with her mother on Loose Women in 2021, Mia expressed aspirations to emulate her mother's acting success.
However, after working as a makeup artist post-school, she decided to create an OnlyFans account instead. Mia was motivated by friends who were profiting handsomely from the site and now claims she earns tenfold what she did as a makeup artist. "I make around £30,000 a month from my account and only work three days a week.
I film content, upload it and then spend my time doing paper work," she disclosed during her tell-all interview. Beyond the financial gains, Mia finds a sense of empowerment through OnlyFans, stating: "I feel so empowered on OnlyFans. I am my own boss and I'm confident in myself and what I'm doing.
" Mia opened up about her family's disapproval of her career choice, stating: "I think they're just being protective of me." She continued, "I will always love and appreciate them. I hope that one day we can rebuild our relationship and move on.
" She doesn't see OnlyFans as a long-term career but enjoys the freedom it gives her from the typical 'nine to five' routine. Her mum Sammy was a beloved character among Emmerdale fans, playing the role of stable manager Katie since July 2001 when she joined the soap at the age of 15. Her character met a tragic end when Katie died after falling through rotten floorboards following a push by ex-lover Robert Sugden.
After leaving the show, Sammy transitioned into teaching acting. However, she made a return to the small screen last year, portraying Sonia Sutcliffe - wife of murderer Peter Sutcliffe - in the highly praised true crime series The Long Shadow. The Mirror has previously contacted Sammy for comment.
