The Grammy-nominated music artist will perform Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Cain’s as part of her Bulletproof Tour. According to Fish’s online bio, she took up the guitar at 15 and began seeking a place to play by cold-calling local bars.

“I used to open the phone book and call up every place in Kansas City, even if they didn’t have live shows,” she said. “I had maybe a 3% success rate, but eventually, I started filling up my calendar — if you put on a good enough show, word of mouth gets around.” Considering her place in the music world now, word must have got around pretty well.



Fish’s show will be followed by a busy weekend at Cain’s. The Head and The Heart will perform there Friday, Aug. 9, the Johnny Mullenax Band is playing there Saturday, Aug.

Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In The Will Rogers & Wiley Post Fly-In returns Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Will Rogers Birthplace Ranch in Oologah. The annual celebration, hosted by Cherokee Nation, welcomes pilots from across the region to honor the legacy of “Cherokee Kid” Will Rogers and famed aviator Wiley Post.

The grass airstrip will welcome more than 60 vintage aircrafts to the historic site, where guests can enjoy a classic car show, food trucks, vendor booths and more. Traditional Cherokee games and cultural demonstrations will be available. org . ‘Moulin Rouge!’ Baz Luhrmann’s film “Moulin Rouge!,” which combines contemporary pop songs with a story of doomed romance set against the opulence and decadence of Belle Epoque Paris, comes to the Tulsa PAC stage, courtesy of Celebrity Attractions. The musical, which won 10 Tony Awards after its Broadway premiere in 2019, follows the journey of an aspiring songwriter named Christian, who befriends the artist Toulouse Lautrec and becomes infatuated with Satine, the star of the notorious Moulin Rouge cabaret.

The score includes more than 70 songs, ranging from original tunes to hits that span the years from the 1930s to the 2000s. Performances are 7:30 p.m.

‘Krishnaa — Fire to Frost’ The South Asian Performing Arts Foundation will present the Abhinava Dance Company in a performance of “Krishnaa — Fire to Frost,” 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug.

Founded by acclaimed Indian dancers Nirupama and Rajendra, the company has sought to make traditional Indian dance forms accessible to contemporary audiences around the world. “Krishnaa — Fire to Frost” is a work inspired by a character from the epic “Mahabharata,” combining traditional dance forms with Broadway-style costumes and sets. Tickets are $30.
