The TOWIE star's stepdad, Dave Chatwood, is currently in rehab for the first time as he spoke candidly about being determined to succeed on his road to sobriety.

Sharing a smiling selfie with her stepdad at Costa, Sam wrote: 'As a family, we are so proud of you, Dad. 'Recently, you have faced a couple of difficult episodes due to your alcoholism. This is your first time in rehab, and we want you to know how much we love you and that we are here to support you through this journey.



' After Sam visited Dave the pair enjoyed a curry out for lunch before she also took him to the barbers for a hair cut. Dad and I made a short video because he said he wants to share his journey and hopefully help others who are going through the same thing one day'.

Speaking to the camera, Dave began: 'Good afternoon, it's Chatty Dave, two weeks of sobriety going into my first 12 steps of living a clean life. It is going to be a very hard battle but I am quite determined to do it.' Supporting her dad, Sam added: 'You can do it Dad.

' He continued: 'I'm having a good day because Samantha has come down to see me,' as she exclaimed: 'We are really proud of you dad you can do this.' After sharing the post Sam and her dad were overcome with supportive messages as fans took to the comments. Scrolling through the messages, Sam wrote: 'Wow! Flooded with messages of support.

I'm going to try print them off for dad to read, thank you!' Sam and her sister Billie have previously spoken out on their concerns for their stepdad's health on their ITVBe show Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries. Dave told Billie that he had about 15 months left if he carried on doing what he was doing after talking to the doctor. Speaking to her mum Suzie, Billie admitted: 'It's sort of like banging your head against a brick wall a little bit with dad at the minute because I don't think anything's really going to change at the moment.' Suzie then added: 'I mean, I know he's never going to stop straight away but if he doesn't calm down.

You know, he'll be lucky to have another year.' Billie continued: 'I think now Nelly and Arthur are getting a bit older. It's almost getting harder, it's getting harder to disguise it or hide it from them.

' She added : 'You know, he has got an addiction. It's an illness, isn't it?' as Suzie replied: 'It is.' 'Unless he really wants to try and help himself get better, which at the moment, I don't feel like he does.

Then what can we do? We just have to carry on as we always have,' said Billie.
