Hyderabad’s culinary scene is evolving beyond its famous biryanis with the introduction of the renowned restaurant SALT. This new dining spot offers a rich selection of Indian dishes, maintaining traditional flavors and a compelling visual and aromatic dining experience.

Already successful with branches in Chennai and Bengaluru, SALT’s new location in Hyderabad continues to promote Indian delicacies as comforting and soul-satisfying food, served one plate at a time. At the helm is Chef Balaji Balachander, whose culinary prowess ensures more than just outstanding dishes. SALT aims to create a dining experience that stimulates all the senses.

Chef Balachander, along with his former classmate Chef Gowtham Balasubramanian and hotelier Michael Anthony, has driven the restaurant’s vision forward since its inception in 2013. Their commitment is to provide unmatched service and a truly memorable meal. Talking about it, Chef Bala say s, “My mother always says, we have to cook with such love and passion that it brings out real flavours and character to a dish even with simpler ingredients.

Me and my team follow the same in everything that we do here, in the kitchen and beyond. This success is not one person’s work but each one of us has put in equal passion to deliver a great dining experience. SALT’s menu showcases an extensive array of Indian dishes, offering recipes that capture authentic flavors and provide soulful comfort.

The culinary offerings include light yet richly flavored curries, and lush, juicy kebabs. Some of the standout items include Subzi Quinoa Seekh, Mutton Seekh, Ras-Bhari Kofta Curry, Tandoori Ratan, Alleppey Fish Curry, Parda Jhinga, SALT’s Special Biryani, Dal Makhani, and Avadhi Chicken Korma. For those who enjoy smaller dishes, Bambaiya Ragda Pattie, Chettinad Lollipops, and Old Monk Chili Chicken are favorites that guests frequently order again.

In addition to its exceptional food, SALT also offers a creative cocktail menu that blends traditional ingredients with modern twists. Some of the innovative drinks include Madhosh, a fusion of vodka and litchi juice; Angara Martini, which combines vodka with spiced and elderflower syrups and ginger; Bagh, featuring gin with lemongrass, curry leaves, and ginger ale; and Nut Khat Bourbon, a unique mix of bourbon whiskey, hazelnut, rosemary, and apple juice. These drinks reflect a harmonious blend of flavors designed to complement the dining experience.

Chef Bala says, “For us, Hyderabad represents a vibrant culinary landscape, and we’re excited to bring SALT’s unique blend of authentic Indian flavours to this dynamic city. We look forward to offering our guests an exceptional dining experience that celebrates the rich heritage of Indian cuisine.” SALT’s Pan-Indian cuisine approach is not limited by regional boundaries and serves as its unique selling point.

This approach honors the diversity of Indian cultures, skillfully reflected in the food preparations. By employing traditional culinary techniques on premium ingredients, the restaurant offers an immersive dining experience. With its expansion into Hyderabad, the aim is to adapt to the local tastes and preferences, continuously enhancing and tailoring the menu to resonate with the local palate.
