Pop star Sabrina Carpenter was forced to run away shrieking in fear after she was hit by fireworks during her performance at a major music festival in San Francisco. The US singer was saying goodbye to fans at the end of her performance at Outside Lands music festival on Saturday when fireworks were set off too close to her. She was hit by the sparks, forcing her to flee in terror.

The 25-year-old yelled “oh my god” as she ran back towards her backup dancers before running off stage, which left the crowd in shock. Despite the mishap, Carpenter put on a magical performance while wearing a sparkly black bodysuit paired with black pumps and fish-net stockings. She had an outfit change during the performance, which was a dark glittering dress with matching knee-high platform boots.

Her performance comes weeks before her new album, Short n’ Sweet is expected to drop on August 23. Two tracks from the upcoming album, Espresso and Please Please Please both landed top spots on music charts across the world. Espresso reached one billion streams on Spotify this month while Please Please Please reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Carpenter shared the huge one billion milestone to her social media saying, “Sabrina Carpenter’s Espresso is the newest member of the Billions Club. Thanks to the fans”. She thanked fans for streaming the massive hit song.
