The Proteas are quietly confident that they will become the first senior national team to win the World Cup. According to all-rounder Chloe Tryon, the South Africans will look to keep things simple and continue to play the brave brand of cricket that they have been playing so far.

The Proteas will get a second bite of the cherry when they take on New Zealand’s women in the final on Sunday. South Africa booked their place in the final for the second consecutive year in emphatic fashion. They avenged their loss to Australia in the final at Newlands in Cape Town last year — trouncing the defending six-time champions by eight wickets in the semi-final on Thursday evening.



According to Proteas all-rounder Chloe Tryon, the mood in the camp is relaxed and the team will look to keep things simple. “I feel we have learnt a lot quicker than before we also feel like we have nothing to lose we didn’t really come into the tournament being nervous the fact that we played in a final there was no big expectation for us to get into another final we narrowed it down and just focussed on every single game in front of us we played a lot of games leading up to this and I think we have been in situations where its hasn’t gone o.
