Ryan Seacrest is gearing up to usher in a new era of Wheel of Fortune — but not all fans of the long-running game show series is onboard. The 49-year-old was handed the keys to the Wheel of Fortune kingdom when iconic host Pat Sajak retired after his 41-year-long tenure in the position. Though the American Idol host still has a few more weeks before he makes his television debut, his new title has already ruffled a few feathers.
Many diehard fans don’t think he’s right fit for the job , and they have no qualms about letting him know how they feel. In the snap, the pair smiled at each other while opening a box that declared: “Ryan Seacrest to launch new era.
” He doubled down on his desires in the caption, writing: “We’re so excited for this New Era of Wheel!” His critics wasted no time heading to the comments section to air their grievances about the upcoming season. A post shared by Ryan Seacrest (@ryanseacrest) “No offence [sic] to Ryan but those are big shoes to fill,” one person wrote. “I will miss Pat no matter what Ryan does.
” Someone else said bluntly: “No one could ever take Pat Sajak[‘s] place.” Another person expressed a bit of confusion, wondering why Seacrest hasn’t actually been featured on an episode yet. “They keep saying Ryan Seacrest is going to take over for Pat Sajak but every time you turn on the show Pat Sajak is there.
” Though Wheel of Fortune hasn’t set a firm date for the Georgia native’s official debut, it’s assumed the episode will premiere some time in September. ” This all comes amid rumors that White and Seacrest have gotten off to a rocky start as co-hosts. Back in June, an insider told the Daily Mail that the longtime letter-turner was ready to quit the show after “not jibing” with Seacrest. “It is just so difficult to do this without Pat,” the source claimed at the time.
