RUTH Langsford has savagely swiped at her ex Eamonn Holmes after their bitter split. The Loose Women star, 64, made a pointed quip on live TV having recently divided up their belongings as he moved out of their £3.5million Surrey mansion.

In a discussion on the topic of antiques, the panel debated whether they "hang onto old bits of tat" or chuck them out. Ruth cheekily remarked: "I'm throwing out a lot of stuff out at the moment", which had the audience in hysterics. Amused Coleen gave Ruth a clap over the hilarious dig.

It's the first time Ruth has made a reference to her marriage since their joint statement about separating earlier this year. Since then, Eamonn has moved on with a new girlfriend 22 years his junior. Katie Alexander, 42, joined him at a friend’s wedding this weekend where they cosied up together.

It follows a luxury holiday on a cruise ship which brought the couple closer together. Ever since, Katie has been reportedly telling pals that 64-year-old Eamonn is her "soulmate". Ruth and Eamonn - who share son Jack - first got together in 1996 and tied the knot in 2010.

The former Friday This Morning hosts endured a stressful time lately as 62-year-old Eamonn's health deteriorated. Before the shock split announcement, Ruth and Eamonn seemed like one of the strongest couples on UK TV – even with their signature bickering style. Here's how their romance played out.

.. 1997 - The couple first meet after being introduced by mutual friends, two years after Eamonn.
