Ruth Langsford appeared visibly moved as she returned to Loose Women for the first time since her split from Eamonn Holmes. The Loose Women star and GB News presenter Eamonn, both 64, confirmed in May that they are in the process of divorcing after 14 years of marriage, having first started dating in 1996. She returned to the ITV daytime show on Monday, but she is still yet to open up about their breakup publicly.

Coleen Nolan said: ‘I am so so happy that you’re back,’ as the audience cheered and Ruth smiled: ‘Thank you! Thank you very much!’ She added: ‘It’s very nice to be back with you all.’ A spokesperson confirmed their split, and said at the time: ‘Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.’ ‘Ruth knows the viewers are heavily invested in her breakup so she will be addressing her and Eamonn for the first time on the show,’ a TV insider hadtold MailOnline in the lead up to her Loose Women appearance.

‘She will be surrounded by the people she’s closest to on the show and then will be drawing a line under it...

she has no plans to do a big interview, this will be the one and only time she speaks.’ It was previously reported that work commitments had resulted in the former couple drifting in ‘different directions’. Eamonn has admitted he was ‘not OK’ after the split, and thanked fans for support on GB News.

‘I’d just like to thank people for your support for Ruth and I over the last few days as to the news of our separation,’ he said in May, shortly after the split was announced. ‘Your support for both of us is very much appreciated,’ he added, while Ruth took a break from Loose Women and didn’t address their breakup for some time. Over the weekend, Eamonn shared a photo of himself over the weekend in the studio still wearing his wedding ring .

The former This Morning presenter has discussed his own health struggles, saying he was on ‘borrowed time’ and ‘not OK,’ in an appearance at an awards ceremony. ‘I’m not OK. This is not a good time at all,’ he admitted, amid his chronic pain.
