PATNA: A man arrived in a hospital in Bihar's Bhagalpur , tightly gripping a venomous Russell's Viper from its neck, after it bit his right hand late Tuesday evening, reports Manoj Chaurasia . After being bit, Prakash Mandal caught hold of the reptile's neck and rushed to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College & Hospital. Witnesses said on seeing him with a snake, the doctors and nurses were terrified, asking him to first release the snake.

Mandal, though, refused to let go of the snake and as his treatment got delayed, he began writhing in pain. Eventually, he lay on the floor of the hospital holding on to the snake. It was only after the snake was safely packed into a bag that his treatment began.

A doctor said the patient remained "partially stable"..
