RTE star Kathryn Thomas jumped in to correct Daithi O Se after he made a hilarious slip up on the Rose of Tralee tonight. The hit show returned tonight with co-hosts Kathryn Thomas and Daithi O Se taking to the stage to welcome each Rose to the competition. 32 Roses have taken to the Dome in Tralee in a bid to be crowned, The Rose of Tralee this week.
The first 18 Roses put their best foot forward last night, with women from places as far as North Carolina and Ohio showing off their talents. Tonight, the remaining 14 Roses took to the stage to win over the hearts of the nation. Ahead of announcing this year's winner, RTE viewers were left in stitches after Daithi made a blunder of his words.
Before cutting to the adverts, he told viewers that "after the break" they would be crowing the winner of the "Rose of Tralee 2022". Kathryn immediately cut across to save Daithi and said: "Or 2024 even." The duo both looked at each other and let out a big laugh as Daithi realised what he had said.
But RTE viewers were quick to notice the mistake as they took to Twitter to share their hilarious reactions. Bernie laughed: "I think Daithi just did a Joe Biden lol! 2022 rose of Tralee??" Stephen joked: "Daithi is no more good after that granny, he thinks it’s 2022." Niall humorously added: "Nevermind Daithi, we did lose two years of our lives after all! It should be 2022.
