RTE star Daithi O Se got "nervous" as the Donegal Rose stripped down on stage and left viewers all saying same thing. The hit show returned last night with Kathryn Thomas and Daithi taking to the stage to welcome each Rose to the competition. On Monday night, 18 Roses put their best foot forward, with women from places as far as North Carolina and Ohio.

The rest of the 14 contestants will be showcasing their talents tonight in the final in a bid to be crowned the Rose of Tralee . First up tonight was Donegal Rose Niamh Shevlin, who is a successful Irish dancer alongside her twin Gavin. The Glenswilly native auditioned for the Lord of the Dance tour in China in 2018 and toured for five years with Michael Flatley 's famous group.

Niamh volunteered in Uganda with Irish Aid in March 2023 for ten days where she taught and performed Irish dancing. After the young woman returned home to Ireland, she decided to keep helping the kids in Uganda. She explained: "I was sitting on the plane on the way back and I said I feel so guilty leaving this place and not leaving something behind.

" Niamh got in contact with the principal from Hands for Hope School in Uganda and set up weekly zoom dance lessons. She said: "I now have all the children in Hands for Hope School in Uganda dancing every week." The Donegal beauty decided to show off her Irish dancing skills for her talent section of the competition.

However, when Daithi asked if she was ready to go, Niamh replied: "Well...

I need to lose a bit of this skirt." Daithi replied: "Okay, okay..

. Jesus before nine o'clock now." Niamh proceeded to take off the bottom half of her stunning red ballgown to reveal her puffy mini dress underneath.

The Today presenter let out a sigh as he said: "Nervous laugh...

phew." While many of this year's Roses have stepped out wearing red, viewers were pleasantly surprised when Niamh switched up her look. Orla wrote: "I'm fully invested in #ROT tonight! We have Rose #44 wearing red, but she did the skirt whip off to reveal a wee mini skirt to Irish dance.

Winner to me." Bernie tweeted: "Ok she has a detachable skirt for dancing the red is forgiven." Leah remarked: "We have a detachable skirt, I repeat we have a detachable skirt.

Bingo cards are go." Siobhan commented: "If anything The Rose of Tralee is consistent. Flying the #reddress flag! #RoseofTralee.

" Liam added: "A bit of Irish dancing, what a way to start!".
