RTE viewers have all been left with the same complaint after Daithi O Se made an "inappropriate" comment to the London Rose. The hit show returned tonight with co-hosts Kathryn Thomas and Daithi O Se taking to the stage to welcome each Rose to the competition. 32 Roses have taken to the Dome in Tralee in a bid to be crowned, The Rose of Tralee this week.

The first 18 Roses put their best foot forward last night, with women from places as far as North Carolina and Ohio showing off their talents. Tonight, London Rose, Glenna Mannion was escorted to the stage by Daithi to chat about her time spent being a special needs assistant. However, viewers were all left with the same complaint after Glenna mentioned how her sister Mary had attempted to kiss the pope when he visited Ireland.

She said: "As kids we were so lucky to be the first ones to great the pope as he got off the plane. "My sister Mary is like a 'kissy huggy' kind of person and she was like, 'I'm going to kiss the pope' and we were all like, 'Jesus, you can't do that'. "So he came down the steps anyways and met my niece and nephew and she went in for the kill.

Not one but she got two kisses." The audience erupted into a fit of a laughter and all began to cheer for Glenna's sister. Daithi then immediately replied saying: "So your sister tried to shift the pope?" Fans took to Twitter to react to the comment with one viewer writing: "'She tried to shift the Pope' a bit inappropriate Daithi!" Anne-Marie remarked: "'She tried to shift the pope' steady on Daithi you’ve made all the aul wans faint.

" While David said: "You can't kiss the pope!" And Leah added: "Daithí declaring 'She tried to shift the Pope' isn’t as surreal as the tea leaf reading that followed." Glenna donned a beautiful red satin halter neck gown with a gorgeous princess skirt..
