Tuesday, August 13, 2024 Roseate Hotels & Resorts, in collaboration with the International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Dr. Chef Parvinder Singh Bali—Director of the School for European Pastry & Culinary Arts—and the CCC Cycling Club, recently organized a monumental cyclothon to address the critical need for skilled talent in the hospitality industry. The event, which took place on July 28, 2024, saw 150 participants, including students, renowned celebrity chefs, industry professionals, and community members, all united in their mission to attract new talent to the rapidly expanding hospitality sector.

The cyclothon, a challenging 150-kilometer journey from Green Park, New Delhi, to Mathura and back, was more than just a test of endurance. It served as a vibrant campaign designed to draw attention to the immense career opportunities within the hospitality industry, which is expected to add around 1 million jobs in the coming years, as reported in the recent Budget. This growth is crucial, especially as the industry grapples with a significant talent shortage exacerbated by rapid expansion following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Roseate Hotels & Resorts played a pivotal role in orchestrating this campaign, underscoring its commitment to fostering new talent and enhancing the industry’s future. The cyclothon was a demonstration of Roseate’s dedication not only to its own workforce but to the broader hospitality community. Throughout the event, Team Roseate ensured that participants were well-supported with essential amenities, including water stations and other necessities, making the challenging journey more manageable.

Mr. Kush Kapoor, CEO of Roseate Hotels & Resorts, emphasized the significance of this initiative in light of the current industry landscape. “The promising new Budget, which includes initiatives aimed at creating 1 million jobs, along with unprecedented benefits for interns and first-time job seekers, is a significant step forward for the hospitality industry.

It promises growth and opportunities for many. Roseate Hotels & Resorts is delighted to partner with IIHM, CCC, and SEP for the 150 km Cyclothon to create awareness, promote career opportunities, and celebrate this milestone, which is critical for the future of Indian hospitality,” said Mr. Kapoor.

Roseate Hotels & Resorts is deeply committed to shaping the future of the hospitality industry through skill development and job creation. The company has already implemented a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of its employees. These initiatives include online learning through the Roseate Learning Centre, the Resiliency Program, language training, educational advancement, personality development programs, and practical training through visits to tea gardens and vineyards.

Additionally, Roseate offers culinary exposure through collaborations with renowned chefs and cross-functional exposure to provide its teams with a well-rounded experience. By organizing the cyclothon, Roseate Hotels & Resorts not only highlighted the pressing need for skilled talent in the hospitality sector but also demonstrated its proactive approach to addressing this issue. The event was a testament to the company’s ongoing efforts to attract a larger, more skilled workforce, ultimately contributing to the overall growth and success of the industry.

Roseate Hotels & Resorts extends its heartfelt gratitude to all participants, supporters, and collaborators who contributed to the success of the cyclothon. The event marks just one of many steps the company is taking to ensure the future of hospitality in India is bright, promising, and filled with opportunities for the next generation. As the industry continues to evolve, initiatives like this cyclothon will play a crucial role in shaping a more sustainable and prosperous future for all involved.
