In a Scottish twist, the two top men at the head of the organisations have been brought together and will also join-up with McIlroy . Fourteen LIV players, including superstar Jon Rahm , will tee it up at St Andrews, Kingbarns and Carnoustie for the DP World Tour event. In the format where pros are teamed-up with amateurs, Thursday’s opening round, Monahan and Al-Rumayyan are together in the same group.
Monahan plays alongside two-time BMW PGA Championship winner Billy Horschel, while Al-Rumayyan is paired with LIV’s Dean Burmester. Their opening round begins at 9am local time from Carnoustie’s 10th tee, while in their second round at Kingsbarns, Monahan partners with McIlroy and Al-Rumayyan will team up with Johan Rupert, the head of luxury brand Richemont and the event’s founder.
