Take the balcony scene in which Juliet, played by Rachel Zegler, appears in a bed suspended in mid-air. Connor seizes the bed frame, executes a perfect pull-up and kisses her.
For a few moments, the star-crossed lovers hang suspended above New York, lips locked, muscles shivering. Shakespeare has never been so thirst trap. Casting a hot young celebrity with a teen fanbase as Romeo is the latest fashion for Trojan-horsing the Bard to teens.
