New Delhi: Ace Indian fashion designer Rohit Bal passed away at the age of 63 on November 1, 2024.
For those unversed, the designer was battling health issues after a heart ailment in 2023. Rohit only recently returned to the fashion scene with an appearance at the Lakme Fashion Week. Despite his challenges, Rohit Bal made an incredible comeback a few weeks ago at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week show, where he presented his last collection Kaaynaat: A Bloom in the Universe with actor Ananya Panday as his showstopper.

Born on May 8, 1961, Rohit Bal always implemented pieces of his homeland Kashmir in his work. The renowned designer pursued history at St Stephen’s College in Delhi.
Following this, he went on to choose his true calling at the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Dubbed as ‘India’s master of fabric and fantasy, Rohit Bal began his career in 1986 with his brother’s export company. Soon gaining recognition, he launched his independent collection in 1990.
