One of India's most celebrated fashion designers, Rohit Bal passed away at the age of 63 last night, November 1. Affectionately known as Gudda to his friends and followers, Rohit Bal's legacy is one to behold. But, while his flamboyant personal life and dreamy fashion collections are public news, there are a few tidbits about him that aren't talked about much.

Prolonged heart ailment While many saw the designer grow gaunt last year after suffering from a heart ailment, the truth is that Rohit Bal has long had heart problems. Back in 2010, he was admitted to the hospital and had to undergo emergency angioplasty. He even had a pacemaker for quite a few years.



In 2023, he was admitted to the hospital and was on ventilator before recovering just in time for his final fashion show. Finally, on November 1, 2024, the designer suffered a cardiac arrest and passed away.
