“Rogue traders” are posing risks to both students and animals across Bolton , town hall has heard. This comes after a full meeting of the council heard how one alleged “rogue trader” had set himself up for business at three different areas around the borough in three months. Cllr Ryan Bamforth, who represents Horwich North, said that “unqualified individuals” had been posing as educators.
He said: “For context, this started in Horwich North, the individual was found out, the individual was moved on. The issue was discussed at Bolton Town Hall (Image: Newsquest) “Council officers have been aware and have been watching this individual but unfortunately they keep shutting down and opening in different wards throughout the borough.” Cllr Bamforth asked for the council’s relevant cabinet member and officers to meet with him to discuss the threat posed by rogue traders.
In response, council cabinet member for regulatory services and property Cllr Sue Haworth said she was not aware of the case Cllr Bamforth had referred to.
