The lead singer of one of the bands in the Summer of ‘99 Tour took a moment during the band’s performance at the Hersheypark Stadium to share an uplifting message of faith. 3 Doors Down Brad Arnold admitted “I don’t talk a lot at our shows” during the band’s set. And it was true - unlike Scott Stapp, lead singer of Creed, whose performance followed 3 Doors Down later in the evening, Arnold spoke very little between songs.

His banter with the crowd was largely limited to thanking the crowd between songs. “You sound absolutely amazing,” he said at one point to the crowd. “God bless you, thank you so much.

” But before playing “Away From the Sun, he took several moments to go a bit more in depth, and asked if he could share a message before they performed the song “Away From the Sun.” “I feel like I can identify with this song more than most of our songs,” Arnold said. “This world surrounds us with the message we’ll never be good enough, we’ll never be strong enough, we’ll never be beautiful enough, we’ll never be rich enough.

Whatever the case may be. Social media surrounds us with those messages all the time. It’s driven down our throats every day, that we’ll never be good enough and nobody really really love us.

” “My friends, I just want to take a second to tell you, that’s an absolute lie,” Arnold continued. “You are loved. You are enough, and you will win.

Not only can you win, but you will win. You’ll always be enough for one reason. And that’s because Jesus Christ loves you.

” Arnold added to his uplifting message that “Jesus Christ loves you so much that he made you just the way you are, just the way you’re standing there right now.” Despite everyone’s imperfections, he said, “I promise you there’s more, and you will win.” “I failed all day today.

You failed today. But you’re still the one that Jesus loves,” Arnold said. “Repeat after me: I am the one that Jesus loves.

Amen, my friends. Thank you so much.” 3 Doors Down does not specifically identify as a Christian band.

Neither does Creed, despite speculation to the contrary due to Christian imagery and metaphor that appears in some of their music. But the mentions of Jesus and the prayer itself met largely with enthusiastic cheers from the audience..
