COLUMBIA — On Nov. 7, cocktail and tapas bar Robinson Room held its soft reopening at its original location on 1625 Main St. The restaurant's owning group, LTC Hospitality Services , had previously been housed at 1614 Main Street for just over one year.
David Turner, vice president of marketing and events at LTC, did not cite a reason for the move and wouldn't give an update on what will become of its previous space. However, he said the relocation is a cause for celebration. "There was just an opportunity to bring Robinson Room back to its original home building, and with a little piece of intrigue to that space and budget," he said.
Highlights on the new menu include red-wine-braised short ribs over Adluh grits, creatively topped flatbreads and three different kinds of cheesecake. "The menu is going to be similar, with tapas style and a heavy emphasis on fun, seasonal cocktails," Turner said. "But also, the venue has expanded a little bit with some fresh ideas.

With the move next to neighboring LTC restaurant and bowling alley The Grand, as well as Urban Tiki Bar, Turner envisions the new Robinson Room being a space for diners to start — and end — their night in downtown Columbia. "You just go downstairs or down the hallway and have a whole different experience, all in one space," he said.
"We're looking for it to be for late-night, date night and girls' night." Robinson Room is currently in its soft ope.
