ROBERT Griffin III has spoken out for the first time since his shocking ESPN firing. The NFL analyst, 34, had worked for the network for three years before being given the boot last Thursday. Griffin's contract still had two years left to run, but ESPN have chosen to move in a different direction.

The former quarterback had worked on NFL Live and Monday Night Countdown since joining the network. While he also covered college football . Speaking out for the first time since news of his ESPN exit broke, Griffin promised to reveal all in time.

He had been strongly considered for a new gig as their No2 college football analyst - but this position went to to Greg McElroy. On Thursday, Griffin posted a cryptic tweet insinuating that people around him wanted him to fail.
