Robert “Bob” Allen Edwards Bob Edwards was born on April 30, 1934 to Earl and Eylene Coe Edwards in Wausau, Wisconsin. He passed away peacefully in Temple, Texas, on November 4, 2024. Following his high school graduation in 1952, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably for 4 years.
He met his future bride, Pam Henss, at the University of Wisconsin St Luke’s School of Nursing in 1957 and they were married in January 1959. Upon completion of his nursing degree at St Luke’s, Bob joined the United States Air Force where he completed his Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Degree. Bob and Pam traveled all over our country and the world with their four children while he served in the military and, after 20 years as a medical officer, Bob retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1979.
Once his Air Force mission was complete, Bob and Pam moved to Lake Belton where Bob commenced his second career at King’s Daughters Hospital in Temple, Texas. Bob was a very passionate and active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Temple, Texas. He never missed an opportunity to serve Our Lord, whether it was volunteering at Vacation Bible School, visiting ill and housebound parishioners to pray and offer Holy Communion, or constructing ramps for the physically disabled.
His lifelong calling was to serve others and he did it very well. Bob was a diehard Green Bay Packers fan who enjoyed many hobbies. One of his great joys was golfing and he was an avid player until a .
