Bollywood actress and fitness enthusiast Shilpa Shetty's exquisite restaurant, Bastian, frequently grabs headlines for its A-list clientele and extravagant events. From hosting Sonakshi Sinha's wedding bash to being a favourite hangout for star kids, it consistently attracts Mumbai's elite, drawing even more customers. However, this time, it has been in the news for all the wrong reasons.
Reports indicate that a robbery occurred at the upscale eatery on Sunday night. Robbery At Shilpa Shetty's High-End Restaurant Bastian Bastian - At the Top, situated on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar West, was recently the scene of an unusual event. Reportedly, a luxurious BMW Z4 convertible, valued at Rs 80 lakh, was stolen from the parking area while a guest dined at the restaurant.
The car's owner, 34-year-old businessman Ruhan Firoz Khan from Bandra, arrived at Bastian with two friends around 1 am and handed his keys to the restaurant's valet. When the establishment closed, he requested his vehicle, only to find it missing. CCTV footage later confirmed that the BMW was stolen around 2 am by unidentified individuals.
Acomplaint was filed at the Shivaji Park police station and they swiftly launched a probe. The authorities are diligently reviewing CCTV footage to track down the thieves. The cops have charged the suspects under section 303(2) (punishment for theft) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023.
