Robert Rinder professed his 'love' for close friend Rylan Clark as he let slip why the TV star makes him smile. The former telly judge said he 'loves' his close friend Rylan, saying there are two types of friends. He told the Great Company with Jamie Laing podcast: "Real friendship is not the people who'll be there in the middle of the night, I mean the emergency services will do that for you.

"And then the friends like like Rylan who are there when things go really well, who can you telephone that's going to sit alongside you and celebrate with unfettered joy. That's who your mates are, right?" Meanwhile, on the same podcast last month Rylan shared his adoration for Robert, saying that he was a 'true friend'. The pair currently star together in Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour on BBC exploring some of Italy's most iconic destinations in the first series of the show.

He said: "I thought first day, I'd have a go at acting, because I'd had an alright time at the National Youth Theatre. I'd done the summer course that you had to do and the next year I did Julius Caesar.

" But he changed his mind after seeing his close friend Benedict Cumberbatch out-do him, adding: "It's that sense that you know, you'll never achieve that (his quality of acting). It's the type of talent that is the difference between becoming an artist and being one." He continued: "He has this gift, that great musicians can play from when they're little.

To physically inhabit the body of a character from an energy point, from a voice, from the way a chin might move in a scene and that's different from the stuff that I could do which is mimicry." Next month we will see Robert joined by his 'Amazing Hotels: Life Beyond the Lobby' co-host Monica Galetti as they jet-off to their next luxury hotel, this time on the Spanish party island of Ibiza..
