The 2024 chestnut festival takes place at Vallerano, a small town located about 60 km northwest of Rome, over four weekends in October and the first three days of November. The festivities of the 22nd edition of the Festa della Castagna are centred around the locally-harvested chestnuts - which can be enjoyed roasted - accompanied by wine, music and dancing. More than 40 festival events take place on the weekends on 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 October as well as from 1-3 November.
