A road in Bolton was closed this evening after a heavy goods vehicle collided with a tree. Emergency services were called to Bradshaw Road, Turton , at around 5pm this evening. One person was assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require any treatment.

The road was closed in both directions and a cordon was put in place as firefighters worked to remove the tree from the road. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Shortly after 4.55pm this afternoon (Thursday 15 August), two fire engines from Bolton Central and Bolton North fire stations were called to attend a road traffic collision involving a heavy goods vehicle and a tree on Bradshaw Road, Bolton.



“Crews arrived quickly and are currently working alongside colleagues from Greater Manchester Police and Bolton Council to make the area safe.” (Image: NQ) One person who witnessed the aftermath was nearby resident Tanya Leegay. She said: "I heard a big noise and came out.

"I heard they cut the guy out of the vehicle and he was ok he just had a few bruises. "There was an accident here a few weeks ago as well. "It is not a bad road, I have lived here for ten years and those two are the only accidents we have seen.
