Richard Howell, a senior member of staff at the hospital, took to social media to call for mugs, pencils, craft supplies and games for the group. He immediately received offers from members of the Facebook group Ask Oswestry, which he admitted left him delighted. “The response to the Facebook post took me back and I want to say a massive thank you to all the people who responded positively,” he said.
Richard explained that the group, while not open to the general public, will become a crucial outlet for people working at the hospital who are either neurodiverse or want to know more about people who are. And this, he believes, will help people in the area as more and more people receive diagnosis for neurodiverse conditions such as autism and ADHD, among others. “The group is made up of staff at the hospital so it’s an internal one that we are running on every third Friday,” he said.
“It’s not open to the public but nor is it organised through by the NHS but is organised through the staff. “This is why we’re asking people for donations because we don’t have a budget for it. “It’s going to help people rom the town because they work at the hospital and we want to help them.
