Riverdale won its 11th straight Three Rivers Athletic Conference golf title on Monday. The Rams did so in dominate fashion with all six of their golfers placing in the top 20. “I am really, really proud of our guys,” Riverdale head coach Trent Groves said.

“This year, they put in a lot of work, not just during the season, but year-round, to be where they are. They put in a lot of work on their own. And it's really showing this year.

They have been really successful.” Leading the pack was senior Aidan Dorathy, claiming medalist honors for the second consecutive year at Frye Lake Golf Course, in Sherrard, Ill. The Rams followed the TRAC title with a duel win over Erie-Prophetstown on Wednesday -- 154-169 -- remaining undefeated in nine-hole play (11-0).

Junior Blake Sutton had an even par round of 36, including his second hole-in-one of the season. Then on Thursday, the Rams defeated Western Big 6 power Moline at Short Hills Country Club, 149-158. Dorathy once again was the best golfer between the two teams, finishing with a 34.

Junior teammates Mason Smyser and Dean Wainwright rounded out the top three for the Rams with scores of 37 and 38. “That was a really big win for our team, because Moline is obviously a lot bigger than we are, and they're also really, really good, and we played at their home course,” Groves said. “That was just a really, really good bookend of our nine-hole season.

It just showed that we can hang with just about anybody who we play with..
