Working in the summer? No, thank you! Wouldn’t you rather be on a beach somewhere? Feeling the sand between your toes as you sip on a piña colada and eat fresh mango? Miley Cyrus didn’t create a whole (masterful) album called Endless Summer Vacation for nothing: The ultimate dream is to shut down shop and take all of August off like the Europeans do—and if I could, I would be spending it exactly like Rihanna and A$AP Rocky. Hear me out. Earlier this week, the couple went viral when they were spotted tubing in the singer’s native Barbados—the ultimate summertime activity—while looking totally joyful and care-free.
(You can be sure they weren’t thinking about work deadlines or looming projects.) Plus, you simply haven’t lived if you haven’t been hurled off an inflatable device while going 30 miles per hour! (I speak from experience: My dad drives a boat like a maniac.) Sign me up.
Then, just yesterday, the stylish stars were spotting hitting the beach—Rihanna in a saucy little Brat -green zebra dress, no less!—and carousing on a luxury yacht. Again, pure summer 2024 goals—and even better if you’re only a guest on the yacht, so you don’t have to pay for it (and the 20-person crew on deck to serve you overpriced champagne). While aboard, both A$AP and Rihanna were spotted whispering to each other in an intimate embrace , because it’s always better to have a romantic fling while you’re living your best life.
Duh! All of this is to say that Rihanna and A$AP have summer living totally figured out. They are living the summer we wish we were having, and the one we deserve. I am there in spirit.
But, for now, I guess I will go and clean my apartment..
