Tuesday, August 27, 2024 Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, is excited to announce its collaboration with the acclaimed French contemporary artist Richard Orlinski. Situated in the heart of Beverly Hills at the iconic intersection of Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Drive, the Hotel is now showcasing three of Orlinski’s impressive sculptures. Additionally, eight more of his sculptures are on display along the renowned Rodeo Drive, stretching from Santa Monica Blvd to Wilshire Blvd, for visitors and locals to admire through November 2024.

“Beverly Hills has become the epicentre of art and culture. And we’re honoured to be an extension of this exhibition, which will run through the three iconic, palm-tree lined streets of the Rodeo Drive shopping district, and into our Hotel,” says Reed Kandalaft, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Beverly Wilshire. “Richard’s work is electrifying – and it’s really fun for us to incorporate such contemporary pieces into our historic Hotel.

” Prominently positioned outside the Hotel is Orlinski’s striking blue resin panda bear. Standing nearly 9 feet tall, this sculpture masterfully juxtaposes the panda’s immense strength with its inherent gentleness, using Orlinski’s signature sharp facets alongside the soft curves of the animal’s round ears, nose, and stomach. Inside the Wilshire Wing lobby, guests can find a sleek stainless-steel panther, 4.

5 feet in height, symbolizing power and grace. Its wild essence is enhanced by diamond-like facets that create a sense of perfection. Meanwhile, the valet area features the formidable Kong, a 6-foot-tall blue resin sculpture inspired by the legendary film character King Kong, showcasing both the creature’s might and its capacity for tenderness.

This exhibition not only marks Richard Orlinski’s inaugural display in Beverly Hills but also heralds the start of “Rodeo Drive Celebrates Fashion,” an event celebrating the craftsmanship, creativity, and innovation that make Rodeo Drive a premier luxury destination worldwide. “Rodeo Drive is honoured to partner with Richard Orlinksi and Beverly Wilshire to commemorate our 2nd annual Rodeo Drive Celebrates Fashion. The legendary street comes alive during the week-long celebration honouring the preservation and advancement of the intersection of luxury, fashion, and entertainment on one of the world’s leading luxury thoroughfares,” says Kay Monica Rose, president of the Rodeo Drive Committee.

Orlinski began his illustrious artistic journey in 2004 with his first creation: a vivid red resin crocodile. His works are deeply influenced by pop culture, often featuring animals that symbolize freedom, power, and passion. Orlinski’s distinctive use of vibrant colors and faceted designs enhances the dramatic features of his larger-than-life sculptures.

Over the years, he has collaborated with prestigious brands such as Lancôme, Hublot, Puma, and Disney. He is also the official artist for the 2024 Games in Paris. “Rodeo Drive has always been synonymous with world-class fashion and art, which is why it’s the perfect location for our newest exhibit, by world-renown artist Richard Orlinski,” says Beverly Hills Mayor Lester Friedman.

“We are truly excited that these larger-than-life sculptures will bring even more excitement and energy to our iconic street and our Beverly Wilshire Hotel.” The exhibition at Beverly Wilshire and along Rodeo Drive will be available for public viewing until November 2024..
