Richard Madeley, the host of Good Morning Britain, has been a familiar face on television for many years, particularly alongside his wife Judy Finnigan. The couple were the main presenters of ITV's This Morning for 13 years until their departure in 2001. In a Channel 5 documentary titled Richard and Judy: Our Best Bits - In Our Own Words, they reminisced about some of the show's most memorable moments.

One such moment was an awkward segment where the hosts introduced three couples for a live Viagra test. In the late 90s, these couples were invited onto the show, sent to a hotel, and then asked to return to share their experiences. Reflecting on this, Judy commented: "Looking back now, yes I'm sure it was incredibly crude but at the same time it felt very energetic and very vibrant.

" Richard chimed in: "Everybody was talking about viagra, we went a step further and we tested it live on air." The 68 year old presenter shared that the couples returned to the studio after an hour and a half to provide their feedback, reports Gloucestershire Live . In the archival footage, Channel 5 viewers saw Richard ask: "Put it this way then, I'll choose my words carefully, was it what you hoped for? Was it everything you hoped for and more?" One of the women confirmed it was, causing laughter in the studio as she contemplated not returning to work.

However, it appeared that Judy wasn't too pleased with the segment upon reflection. In the documentary, she revealed: "There was a producer prowling up and down the corridor outside their rooms in the hotel with walkie-talkies. It's just absolutely, looking back now it's awful!" Nick Bullen, who previously worked on This Morning, pointed out that they were particularly concerned about someone having a negative reaction to the pill.

The documentary also included a nostalgic clip of Richard impersonating Sacha Baron Cohen's character Ali G as he interviewed his wife in character. Reflecting on the memorable skit, Richard said: "I know people rip it out of me for doing Ali G and that's fine I completely get why. But, I do think it was quite a funny script! "At home, I used to occasionally drop into Ali G which the kids thought was very funny.

" During the documentary, as his children made an appearance, their son Jack admitted that he was the one who had spurred on his father's impression. Richard and Judy: Our Best Bits is available to watch on My5.
