“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Lisa Barlow isn’t sorry for wearing real fur. “I’m always a fur girl,” she told Us Weekly at the Daily Front Row’s 11th Annual Fashion Media Awards on Friday. “I know it’s so controversial, but I love wearing fur.

” The reality star, 49, added that if people “really do [their] homework,” they would realize fur clothing is sustainable. “It’s, like, major for you to wear that as opposed to faux fur,” she claimed. There are pros and cons to both arguments.

While anti-fur advocates argue there is nothing luxurious about skinning an animal for fashion, opponents have reasoned that creating faux fur, which contains synthetic materials, is not beneficial to the environment. Barlow has never hidden her affinity for fur, as her Instagram page is peppered with photographs that show the controversial material incorporated into her looks, whether it’s via arm warmers or a full jacket . Plus, she wore fur jackets to both the 2023 and 2024 Sundance Film Festivals.

She told Us Weekly her favorite way to wear fur is with inspiration from ’90s Chanel and Versace looks. Despite all the fur talk, she did not wear any to the Annual Fashion Media Awards. Instead, the Vida Tequila owner rocked a black mesh bodysuit tucked into high-waisted leather pants.

It’s unclear if her pants were true leather. She wore a black bandeau to cover her chest and accessorized with a black belt. She added a splash of gold to her look wit.
