Photo: Honda Honda’s electrification journey has been a gradual one, earning them a reputation as laggards. However, earlier this year, they unveiled ambitious plans to catch up.
The Japanese company plans to build a solid EV brand and are aiming to produce over two million EVs annually. They will launch seven models by 2030, ranging from tiny, zippy cars to spacious family load-luggers. By 2040, 100pc of Honda’s vehicle sales will be battery or fuel-cell electric.
This week’s test car, the Honda CR-V, is part of this electrification quest and is the range-topping SUV in the Japanese car maker’s line-up. On the outside, it’s all about style, with its sleek proportions, bold honeycomb grille and wrap-around headlights. Inside, it’s practical yet exudes a premium feel throughout.
The infotainment screen is user-friendly, and physical controls for heating, ventilation and volume make it easy to use on the go. The latest model is bigger, longer and wider, making it incredibly practical. Honda claims it offers rear-seat passengers best-in-class legroom.
