Lined with olive trees, its sun-drenched terrace appears to boast glittering views of the Gulf of Cadiz, with an infinity pool blending into the azure sea below. But while viewers of Sky's smash-hit drama The Day Of The Jackal might have swooned over the exotic location, the truth is that it isn't in Spain at all.
In fact, the house lies some 1,500 miles further east, perched on a hillside overlooking the coast of Croatia – and those breathtaking sea views are of the idyllic Kvarner Bay in the Adriatic. The glamorous Villas Rosa dei Venti - or 'wind rose' - was a labour of love for owner Mauricio Batelic, who began the project in 2012 and spent nine years building the villa complex - which includes two separate houses - to reflect traditional Mediterranean architecture. A spokesman proudly told The Mail on Sunday that the property was 'selected from many potential sites' by The Day of the Jackal production team to feature as the assassin's enviable home.
And fans will be delighted to learn they too can stay in the property The Jackal shares with wife Nuria, played by Spani.
