Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy will begin weekly district tours from September to personally oversee the implementation of government schemes and development projects, official sources said. These visits aim to enhance governance by directly interacting with the public and assessing on-ground realities.

Reddy had announced his decision to initiate these tours at a meeting with department secretaries on July 2. However, the plan was delayed due to the budget session of the Legislative Assembly in July and his subsequent official visits to the USA and South Korea in August. The Chief Minister’s district tours will include surprise visits and inspections of government schools, hospitals, anganwadi centres, colleges and other government service departments, the sources added.

The objective is to ensure the effective implementation of government initiatives and to address any issues faced by these institutions. Reddy emphasised his commitment to transform Telangana into a model state by way of innovative governance and proactive fieldwork. His weekly district tours are a key part of this strategy, allowing him to embrace new programs and ideas that benefit the public, they added.

The schedule for these district tours will be released soon, sources said. The Chief Minister will also hold district-specific review meetings with top officials and assess the progress of development programmes. Specific targets will be given to district collectors during the review meetings and the C.
