Pune: The Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police branch has banned the entry of heavy vehicles on Chakan-Shikrapur Road in two time-shifts, in a bid to avert traffic congestion in the Chakan MIDC area . Such vehicles will not be allowed to ply on the route between 8am and 11am, and from 5pm to 8pm. Deputy commissioner of police (DCP-traffic) Vishal Gaikwad issued these orders on Sunday.
Deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar on July 31 had held a meeting in Mumbai on the traffic issues plaguing Chakan.
